World MSMEs Day

International MSME Day in Kitengela hosted by the Deputy Governor of Kajiado County, Kajiado East MP, among other Kajiado County leaders. PS MSMEs Hon. Susan Mang’eni presided over celebration of MSMEs and appreciated their role in the growth of the country’s economy. 
The PS who was representing the Cabinet Secretary Hon. Simon Chelughui presided over the handing over of machines to Kitengela Juakali Association, Kajiado Central Juakali and Ngong Juakali Associations. The machines handed over include carwash machines, wood routers, arc welding machines, bench grinders, bench vices, universal vehicle diagnostic kits, oxygen acetylene welding sets, consumable items, electrical tool boxes and mechanical tool boxes.
PS stated that the ministry was committed in enhancing cottage-level manufacturing with common user machinery to refine the production processes and facilitate the aggregation of MSMEs. This would leverage on the existing network of over 200 Constituency Industrial Development Centers (CIDCs) run by the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority to support and promote value addition.
During her visit she also managed to visit various booths such as Kenya Industrial Estate exhibiting some MSMEs product where she acknowledged small businesses as catalysts for growth, job creation, and Africa's sustainable future.Kshs 4.4 million was also issued to 38 groups of women, youth and PWDS, Chair, county, constituency Patrons & CEO accompanied the PS during the celebration of MSMEs. The Fund has to-date disbursed over Kshs.7.2B to 79,274 groups in 290 constituencies.

She also managed to preside over tree planting at the Kitengela CDF office where the PS urged leaders to motivate citizens in increasing tree planting.
