Upskilling Youth

Principal Secretary Hon. Susan Mang'eni visited the Toolkit Training Centre in Kikuyu, Kiambu County where she witnessed the amazing work that they are doing in upskilling youth with enhanced welding skills that can meet the standards and growing demand of the international market.

It was noted that the students who go through this centre also get an opportunity to be linked to welding jobs in the European market. Toolkit is one of the firms that signed MOUs with Polish firms during the high level Kenyan-Poland economic dialogue that was hosted  by H.E William Samoei Ruto and his Polish counterpart H.E Andrezj Duda.

The Principal Secretary also drew attention to the fact that the State Department for MSMEs Development, lay cognizance to the millions of jobs that the welding sector provides to Kenyans, and shall therefore partner with Toolkit to decentralize the training across the country while leveraging on the existing government structures and institutions like TVETs, Enterprise Development Centers, and other agencies within The Department.
