The Ministry of Co-operatives & MSMEs Development participated in a Tree Planting exercise in Timboroa Forest, Kapngetuny location, Uasin Gishu County in line with the President's directive on accelerated national tree planting to combat climate change and global warming.
The Kenya Kwanza administration has set a national target of 15 billion trees by 2032 in order to push the national tree cover to globally acceptable levels. The tree planting efforts were led by CS Hon. Simon Chelugui.
A total of 10,000 tree seedlings were planted during the exercise with the help of the local community. After a discussion with the people of Uasin Gishu with the CS, they agreed to achieve the target in the shortest time possible.
