The EADB which was established in 1967 by the EAC member states provides financing for on ward on lending to Financial institutions in member states. It lends to both private and public sector institutions.

The partnership between KIE and the bank will unlock more financing opportunities for MSMEs to crowd into the manufacturing sector and boost job creation in our economy.

KIE was founded in 1965 to promote rural industrialization through the financing and incubation of small and medium industries. It accorded Kenyan entrepreneurs at the time,  an opportunity to venture into the manufacturing sector. It’s been behind many local manufacturing companies offering not only affordable financing but also manufacturing spaces.

The financing from EADB is therefore expected to increase support towards local investment in  the county aggregation and industrial parks (CAIP) being established across all 47 counties in line with the Bottom Up Economic transformation agenda (BETA).
