State Department Strengthens Accountability Through Performance Contract Signing

This afternoon, PS Susan Mang'eni led the State Department for MSMEs Development through the signing of Performance Contracts by Heads of Department, an important step towards strengthening accountability, efficiency, and results-driven service delivery, in line with Government performance contracting guidelines.

Performance contracting is a key governance tool used by the Government of Kenya to enhance the accountability of public officers and align institutional objectives with national priorities.

This process helps us meet the State Department's mandate, which includes formulating enabling policies, providing business development services, ensuring access to markets and affordable finance, developing enterprise infrastructure and strengthening institutional capacity to support the sustainable growth of the MSME sector.
