Nairobi International Agricultural Show
The PS for MSMEs Development Hon. Susan Mang’eni graced the Nairobi International Agricultural Show at Jamhuri grounds as the Chief Guest of the day. The PS was accompanied by her counterpart for Agriculture Dr. Kiprono Rono. This year’s show is themed around promoting climate smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.

‘The innovations exhibited today is a demonstration of how the Kenyan human capital has developed and come of age. This represents the future of the world. We need to collaborate and take these ideas to the commercialized levels’ The PS noted.
Kenya's agriculture sector, dominated by smallholder farmers, plays a critical role in the nation’s economy and holds immense export potential.
The productivity of the agricultural sector is key to reducing poverty and driving economic growth, making it a central focus of the national agenda and a crucial pillar in the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
"We should work towards transitioning the Nairobi ASK showground into an international agricultural Expo Centre to showcase monthly, our unique agricultural value chains and innovations to the global market." This will ensure the government’s key priority value chains are showcased monthly as a build-up to the major expo in September.
The digitalization of services has transformed agricultural value chains by improving access to inputs, credit, and market information. Technological advancement has continuously streamlined transactions and enhanced input distribution efficiency thereby boosting productivity and reducing costs.
The Kenyan Government is committed to transforming smallholder farming practices through modernization, farm input subsidies to enhance productivity and increase household income levels.

Agriculture remains the single most source of enterprises for the MSMEs sector and therefore it’s imperative that we work side by side to increase investments in the sector for increased uptake by MSMEs.
