CHINA-AFRICA ECONOMIC AND TRADE EXPO (CAETE)
Principal Secretary Hon. Susan Mang'eni attended the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) at the Edge Convention Center. The theme of the expo, "Building Today's SMEs into Tomorrow's Multinational Corporations," aligns perfectly with our vision for inclusive economic growth through The Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) that seeks to empower the people at the bottom of the economic pyramid and make them formal and significant contributors to the economic development of our nation.
Alongside the Ag MD of Kenya Investment Authority - MS Florence Were and Mr. Kennedy Onditi of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Principal Secretary participated in a panel discussion dubbed "WEKEZA DADA” with a subtheme of "Igniting Potential for Accelerated Growth”.
Recognizing the role of MSME empowerment in economic development, she highlighted key strategies and emphasized the importance of guiding MSMEs through planning, fostering professionalism in their businesses, and assisting established entrepreneurs in expanding networks adopting growth strategies.
Government leadership and interventions in fostering international partnerships underscores the need to effectively nurture youth entrepreneurship and effectually leverage on our diverse, expansive and very capable human capital. By virtue of MSMEs being the backbone of our economy, massive efforts are being directed towards breaking barriers to financial access, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship; and we shall continue to work together with other stakeholders.
