PROMOTING PARTNERSHIPS FOR SCALING UP SMEs

Principal Secretary MSMEs Hon. Susan Mang'eni was privileged to host H.E Namgya Khampa, the High Commissioner of India to Kenya, to discuss areas of collaboration in the MSME sector. India is renowned for its technological advancement in the e - commerce sector including leading in payment platforms.

It has also progressed  in agricultural mechanization and value addition especially in leather and textile, and dairy value chains; generating and expanding opportunities for her MSME  to meet their local market demand. The High Commissioner acknowledged the renewed focus that the Kenyan Administration led by H.E President William Samoei Ruto has placed on the MSME sector and pledged to support the government efforts in growing and building the competitiveness of our MSMEs to help generate secure and sustainable jobs in our economy.

They discussed the quick wins arising from the bilateral agreement following the president's visit last year December to India and agreed to develop an action plan for implementing the MSME focused interventions.
