Uwezo Fund 5 Year Strategic Plan
The Uwezo Fund Board held a stakeholders' validation workshop on its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. The stakeholder engagement aimed to fine-tune the strategic plan, which will be launched soon.
The event was graced by PS MSMEs, Hon. Susan Mang'eni. In attendance were the Chairperson and Board Members of Uwezo Fund, Hon. Anthony Oluoch, MP Mathare, representing the Chair Parliamentary Committee on Trade, Industry & Cooperatives, representatives from financial institutions, NG-CDF, NGAAF, NYC, NCPWD, Uwezo Fund Regional Coordinators, Youth Development Officers, Chairpersons of CUFMCs, among other Government representatives.
Speaking during the event held at KICD in Nairobi, PS for SMEs, Susan Mang'eni, challenged the board to formulate strategies that will help bridge the unemployment gap among over 17 million Kenyans.
Furthermore, she urged the board to improve products, processes, and capacity building. She added that the board is spearheading the process of developing a table banking policy and a repayment plan.
PS Mang'eni called upon the participants to embrace teamwork, urging them to build synergies to create more business opportunities in the private sector, thus scaling up business ventures by embracing multivariate and end-to-end interventions.
Ms. Ann Njuguna Chairperson Uwezo Fund emphasized the need for digitization, saying that the Fund is in the process of digitizing its processes.
"The Fund will integrate key business development services such as marketing aimed at ensuring holistic support for the Fund beneficiaries." she stated
Uwezo Find CEO, Mr. Peter Leng'apiani, on his part, highlighted the key results, stating that the plan aims to achieve inclusivity and undertake various initiatives to support groups in obtaining employment. He acknowledged the contributions of the fund implementers and other key stakeholders present.
