MSME Policy Landscape Forum

Hon. Susan Mangeni was graced to attend a workshop on Kenya MSME policy landscape organized by Argidius foundation and African Practice on Business development support service.
PS Hon. Susan Mangeni emphasized the need for targeted support towards the government key priority value chains: leather, edible oils, textile apparel, rice, tea, coffee, dairy, blue economy and building and construction. She also urged the BDS providers to decentralize their services to counties to help build capabilities of local MSMEs to anchor investment in the county aggregation and industrial parks that are underway.
The need for policy reforms within the sector was emphasized and the PS MSME gave an undertaking of the government commitment through Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda to create an enabling environment for businesses through targeted policy and regulatory reforms. She also called upon synergies and the need to break the existing silos in the sector to create room for leveraging and scaling up of MSMEs towards growth and productivity.
