Mainstreaming MSME Sector

County CECs, Chief officers and Directors of Trade and Enterprises across 47 counties convened  to align  and mainstream the MSME sector through the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda to the counties and particularly to create a collaborative framework for enabling a conducive business environment for the MSME sector in Kenya.

It will be recalled that during the Hustler  Fund Anniversary undertakings were made to engage with the county leadership to work out a framework to decriminalize work, designate secure, decent and viable  trading spaces for our MSMEs. Extensive reviews of the existing policy and regulatory frameworks to ease business entry and enable inter county trade including harmonization of the existing multiple licensing regimes was also conducted.

Through the stakeholder meeting held, they agreed to collaborate in enacting reforms that will enable us create a conducive business environment for MSMEs. This was the first such engagement in 11 yrs of devolution.
