Charka Project

Today the Ps for  MSMES and Development accompanied the CS to the launch of the Charka Project by Wezesha Bado Institute in Voi, Taita Taveta County

Built on sustainability and use of locally available materials, it embodies the core value of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which focuses on building our economy from the grassroots by empowering MSMEs and strengthening cooperatives to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth.

"This project is not only set to transform the textile industry in this region but also uplift the lives of women and youth—two groups who are at the heart of our country’s future"noted the Ps

According to the Ps, It's through the success of MSMEs that we will achieve the inclusive economic growth that is at the heart of our BETA Plan. As a state department, we will support these enterprises to scale up, formalize, and access both local and international opportunities.

Borrowing from Mahatma Ghandi, Wealth belongs to people at the grassroots, and thus we will work with them in ensuring they tap into opportunities that surrounds them.
